This book provides a comprehensive overview of CRISPR/Cas technologies and their rapidly expanding role in modern plant science and crop improvement. The book introduces the molecular foundations of CRISPR-based genome editing and explains how these tools are transforming plant breeding, functional genomics, and agricultural biotechnology. Covering both fundamental concepts and emerging innovations, the book discusses major CRISPR systems, genome editing strategies, delivery methods, multiplex editing, base editing, prime editing, and recent advances in precision plant engineering. It further explores the application of CRISPR technologies for improving agronomic traits such as disease resistance, abiotic stress tolerance, nutritional quality, yield enhancement, and sustainable crop production. Written for researchers, graduate students, plant biotechnologists, molecular biologists, and professionals in agricultural sciences, CRISPR/Cas for Plant Genome Editing: Foundations, Innovations, and Applications serves as both an introductory resource and an updated reference for understanding the scientific principles and practical applications of CRISPR/Cas systems in plants. By combining foundational knowledge with current innovations and real-world applications, the book provides readers with a clear understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with plant genome editing.
