Scarce. Original cloth boards with gilt spine titles and gilt fern decoration to spine and cover; untrimmed edges. Light wear and bumping to the cover extremities and light marks to the boards. Internally fairly crisp, clean and bright with a little light foxing, moreso to the first and final couple of leaves. Owner inscription to FFEP. Incl. 59 illustrations within the text and 3 plates in lovely condition, including Variegated Varieties of Scolopendrium Vulgare in full colour. An attractive copy of the scarce 1st edition.
